Laos to face Lebanon in first match of int’l women’s football meet

Laos will face Lebanon in their first match of the International Women’s Friendly Football Tournament taking place at the King Fahd Sport City Stadium in Ta’if, Saudi Arabia.
The Lao team arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday and will take on a squad from Lebanon on September 18. The tournament runs from September 18-23.
The team’s next match will be against Bhutan.
The Lao team comprises 24 women players, led by officials from the Lao Football Federation and head coach Mr Vongmisay Soubouakham, who has experience at the national level and has previously led women’s teams participating in international football events.
The six competing teams have been divided into two groups. Group A comprises Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Pakistan, and Group B consists of Lebanon, Bhutan and Laos.

The winners and second placed teams in each group will go through to the second round.
