Karatedo fighters test skills at JKA-Laos Championship Kumite

Some 117 martial artists from Vientiane, Thailand, the Philippines, France and Cambodia tested their skills in the JKA-Laos Championship Kumite 2023, which took place at the Lao Army Club in Vientiane on Saturday.
Competitors came from the Yaak Gym Club and Udon Thani Club in Thailand, JKA-Laos Karatedo, Sikhot Karatedo, Lao Youth Union Karatedo, Institute of Sport Karatedo, Shotokan Karatedo, the Lao People’s Army, Karate Philippines, Karate France, and the Cambodian Club Mekong.
The championship was hosted by the JKA-Laos Karatedo Club, under the Lao Karatedo Federation, and attended by the Secretary-General of the federation, Mr Sonesack N. Nhansana, and other officials.
The event was an opportunity for Lao karatedo practitioners to test and display their skills and to prepare them for future international competitions.
The Yaak team from Thailand won first place with six gold medals, four silver medals and one bronze medal.
Udon Thani Club came second with five gold, three silver and three bronze medals. JKA-Laos Karatedo Club took third place with four gold, seven silver and nine bronze medals, and the Sikhot Karatedo Laos team came fourth with three gold and eight bronze medals.
