Applications sought for Miss Laos 2023

The organisers of Miss Laos 2023 have called on young women across the country to apply for the pageant.
Those interested in participating should be aged between 18 and 26 years,single and 160 cm tall,good profile .
During a news conference held at Lao Plaza Hotel to publicise Miss Laos 2023, the organisers said the women participating in the contest could be role models for promoting Lao culture. The event attracted officials, sponsors, celebrities, influencers and media.

The President of Miss Laos, Mr Khompanya Phengvinaiya, said: “To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Miss Laos, we have changed the format of the competition this year. We will have activities to continue promoting Lao traditions and culture and clothes for women.”
He added, “The pageant will provide a chance to Lao women nationwide to showcase their abilities as modern women. It will also support all sections of the Lao people, especially in matters related to economy, culture, social, education, agriculture, public health and tourism.”
Such special events help support the Lao economy, promote local products and industry, encourage the Lao people to use the domestic currency, and serve as important symbols.
Within the new format of the competition and other activities, the crowns for the winner and runners-up will be designed by the Phouvong Jewellery shop and presented to the public at the official opening of the round featuring the top 40 finalists of Miss Laos 2023.
To celebrate the special occasion, the organisers of the contest invited the President of the Mister Laos project, Mr Xaysana Norasingsisane, to collaborate with the Miss Laos project to organise special activities and to finalise the format of the competition.
“For Miss Laos 2023, we need women who are confident and modern, and who dare to showcase their creativity while preserving culture,” he said.
Mr Khompanya said he expects the Miss Laos pageant to help bolster the country’s economic and cultural growth.
Mr Xaysana said he appreciated the opportunity to be part of Miss Laos this year. The competition’s theme of “Modern Women” provides a chance to Lao women with a good profile and having knowledge about traditional culture.
“We have four stages of the competition. During the first stage, we will publicise the event and seek contestants both online and offline. They can register at education institutes and women from the north to the south can apply,” he said.
The second stage will begin after completing the application process, and the organisers will go through the application forms and conduct interviews to choose the top 40 finalists.
During the third stage, the top 40 contestants will join training activities focused on their personal development, make-up, clothes and speaking skills.
The highlight of the fourth stage will be the final round of the competition and the selection of the winner and runners-up. The succussful contestants will become role models for Lao women and have a chance to enter the Lao entertainment industry to act in films or promote products.
Applications for Miss Laos 2023 will be accepted from August to September. The top 40 finalists will be chosen in October, and they will participate in various activities from November to December. The final round will take place in December.
Officials and sponsors also joined the news conferences to promote Miss Laos 2023 and urged women to apply for the contest.
